About the Scholarship:

The University of Waterloo is currently accepting applications for the partially funded Arthur Church Entrance Scholarships.

About the University of Waterloo:

The University of Waterloo, often referred to as UWaterloo, UW, or simply Waterloo, is located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The main campus covers 404 hectares (998 acres) of land and is situated near “Uptown” Waterloo and Waterloo Park. In addition to three satellite campuses, the university has four affiliated university colleges. Waterloo has thirteen faculty-based schools and six faculties that oversee its academic programs. The university operates the world’s largest post-secondary cooperative education program, with over 20,000 undergraduate students participating. Waterloo is part of a consortium of 15 Canadian universities with a strong focus on research.

The university’s origins can be traced back to the Waterloo College Associate Faculties, a semi-autonomous division of Waterloo College, an affiliate of the University of Western Ontario, established on April 4, 1956. It became a separate university with the passage of the University of Waterloo Act by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 1959. It was created to meet the demand for technicians and engineers in Canada’s expanding postwar economy. Over the next decade, it experienced significant growth, including the establishment of an arts faculty in 1960 and the relocation of the College of Optometry of Ontario (now the School of Optometry and Vision Science) from Toronto in 1967.

The University of Waterloo is renowned for its academic excellence and is consistently recognized in various international rankings.
