The University of Waterloo, often referred to as UWaterloo, UW, or simply Waterloo, is located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The main campus spans 404 hectares (998 acres) of land near “Uptown” Waterloo and Waterloo Park. In addition to three satellite campuses, the university has four affiliated university colleges. The university is organized into six faculties and thirteen faculty-based schools that oversee its academic programs.
Waterloo University operates the largest post-secondary co-operative education program globally, with over 20,000 undergraduate students participating. The university has produced numerous award winners, public servants, and business leaders, and its alumni and former students can be found in over 150 countries. Waterloo University’s varsity athletic teams, the Waterloo Warriors, compete in the U Sports’ Ontario University Athletics league.
In the 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities, Waterloo University was ranked 151-200 globally and 7-8 in Canada. It was also ranked sixth in Canada and 112th worldwide in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. Times Higher Education’s 2023 international university rankings placed Waterloo University between 201-250 globally and 8-10 in Canada. In the U.S. News & World Report 2022-23 rankings, Waterloo was tied with the University of Ottawa for eighth place in Canada and ranked 191st worldwide.
Waterloo also performed well in graduate employability rankings. It was ranked second in Canada and 24th globally in QS’s Graduate Employability Rankings for 2022. In the Times Higher Education 2022 graduate employability ranking, Waterloo was the ninth-ranked university in Canada and 191st globally. Additionally, in The New York Times’ employability survey from October 2011, which asked CEOs and chairpersons to select the universities from which they recruited, Waterloo was ranked 108th globally and seventh in Canada.
About The University Of Waterloo Graduate Scholarship:
The University of Waterloo Graduate Scholarship is open for applications in 2024. This scholarship is available to graduate students enrolled full-time in a Master’s or Doctoral program at the University of Waterloo. Typically, it provides a minimum of $1,000 per term for up to three terms. To be eligible, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of first-class (80%) in their current program or over the past two full academic years and adhere to their graduate program’s time constraints.
