University of Birmingham Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Conversion Masters Scholarships in the UK for the 2023/2024 Academic Year

About the Scholarship:

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce the availability of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Conversion Masters Scholarships for the academic year 2023–2024. These scholarships aim to promote postgraduate study in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, particularly among women, Black students, disabled students, and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

The University of Birmingham is a public research university located in Birmingham, England. It received its royal charter in 1900, making it the first English unitary university and the first civic or “red brick” university to do so. The Barber Institute of Fine Arts holds works by renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Monet. The Shakespeare Institute is also located on the campus. The university boasts faculty members and alumni, including former British prime ministers Neville Chamberlain and Stanley Baldwin, composer Sir Edward Elgar, and eleven Nobel laureates.

The University of Birmingham is ranked 91st in the world by U.S. News & World Report in 2022 and 137th in the SCImago Institutions Rankings for 2019. In the 2021 Times Higher Education rankings, it was ranked 12th in the UK. Birmingham received the Sunday Times University of the Year 2014 award and was ranked 10th in the UK and 62nd globally in the 2013 QS World University Rankings.

Scholarship Benefits:

The University of Birmingham will select 120 students, each of whom will receive a stipend of £10,000 to assist with living and tuition expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Eligible Countries: UK
  • Acceptable Course(s) or Subject(s): Scholarships are available for University of Birmingham Master’s programs in artificial intelligence and data science.
  • Accepted Standards: Priority for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Conversion Masters Scholarships will be given to women, Black students, disabled students, students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, and students who have never studied STEM or related degrees. Applicants must have received an unconditional or conditional offer of admission to a University of Birmingham Master’s program in data science or artificial intelligence before applying for this scholarship.

Application Process for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Conversion Masters Scholarships:

  • Applicants must have received an offer of a place in one of the University of Birmingham’s master’s programs in AI or data science before applying.
  • Complete the online application form provided here.
  • Supporting documents may include personal statements, letters of recommendation, and transcripts.
  • Applicants must meet the University of Birmingham’s entrance criteria for master’s programs in artificial intelligence and data science.
  • Proof of English proficiency is required for applicants whose first language is not English.
