Eligibility Criteria for Princeton Arts Fellowship

To be eligible for the Princeton Arts Fellowship at Princeton University, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Applicants should be early-career artists and creatives, including composers, conductors, musicians, choreographers, visual artists, filmmakers, poets, novelists, playwrights, designers, directors, and performance artists, among others.
• There is no citizenship requirement for applicants; international artists are welcome to apply.
• Individuals who hold a Ph.D. or any other advanced degree obtained through the Princeton Arts Fellowship program are not eligible.
• This fellowship does not provide the opportunity to earn a Ph.D. or other advanced degrees.

Application Process for Princeton Arts Fellowship

To apply for the Princeton Arts Fellowship, applicants should follow these steps:

1. Complete the online application form available here.
2. Prepare the following application materials:
   • Curriculum vitae (CV)
   • Names and contact information of three references (do not arrange for letters of recommendation to be sent unless requested by the search committee)
   • Work samples, which may include writing samples, images of your work, or links to video performances
   • A 750-word proposal outlining your plans for the two years of the fellowship, including details on teaching and engagement in Princeton’s arts community, as well as how you have promoted diversity and inclusion in your artistic practice, research, and teaching.

Please note that the Princeton Arts Fellowship is open to applicants only twice in their lifetime.
