Ningbo Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) PhD Scholarships at UNNC and CNITECH in China, 2019

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is offering Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) Scholarships at UNNC and CNITECH in China. These scholarships are available for international students and provide support for pursuing a PhD program in various research areas.

Scholarship Description:

  • Deadline: March 15, 2019
  • Course Level: PhD program
  • Study Subject: The scholarships support research projects in the following themes: Advanced Manufacturing, Composite Materials, Electrical Machines and Drives, and New Material Science.
  • Scholarship Award: The DTP scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation at CNITECH (for the PhD candidate only), a monthly stipend of RMB 3,500, and medical insurance. These benefits are provided for up to 36 months based on satisfactory progression.
  • Additional Opportunities: Successful candidates may also engage in paid teaching or research assistant duties at UNNC.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Eligible Countries: Open to international students.
  • Entrance Requirements:
    1. Applicants must have a first-class honors undergraduate degree or equivalent from a British university, or 65% and above for a Masters’ degree from other institutions.
    2. English language proficiency:
      • IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each component
      • PTE Academic: 62 overall with minimum 55 in each component
      • TOEFL (IBT): 87 overall with minimum 20 in Speaking and 19 in other sections

    3. Brief CV

    5. Official transcripts with marks for all individual modules/courses
    6. English language test score (not required for native English speakers)
    7. Two references (to be emailed directly by the referees)
    8. Copy of ID or passport (both sides required)
    9. Electronic copy of passport-sized photo taken within three months of the application
