About the McGill University McCall MacBain Scholarships:

Applications for the 2023 McGill University McCall MacBain Scholarships are now open to prospective applicants interested in studying in Canada. The McCall MacBain Scholarships fully fund your entire master’s or professional program and provide a living allowance to assist with your expenses while studying. Additionally, financial assistance is available if you need to relocate to Montréal.

Recipients of this scholarship will benefit from mentoring, coaching, and advisory support to help them succeed. The program not only enhances leadership skills but also offers opportunities for personal and intellectual exploration.

For the 2024 cohort, applications are currently being accepted, and up to 20 Canadian citizens, permanent residents, refugees, and 10 international applicants will be selected as McCall MacBain Scholars for admission in 2024.

Applicants for the McCall MacBain Scholarship may also be eligible for other awards. Outstanding candidates during the interview process will be named as close to 100 finalists and receive regional prizes.

About McGill University:

McGill University is a public research institution located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Established in 1821 by royal license, it is named after Scottish trader James McGill, whose bequest in 1813 created McGill College. The university officially became McGill University in 1885.

The main campus of McGill University is situated on the slope of Mount Royal in the Ville-Marie neighborhood of downtown Montreal. There is also a second campus located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue on Montreal Island, approximately 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of the main campus. McGill is not only the only Canadian member of the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF) under the World Economic Forum but also one of only two members of the Association of American Universities located outside of the United States, alongside the University of Toronto.

Value of McCall MacBain Scholarships:

Duration and Rewards:

  • McCall MacBain Scholars will receive full funding to enroll in a master’s or second-entry professional degree program at McGill University.
  • The scholarship includes a living allowance of CAD 2,000 per month during academic semesters, full tuition and fees for the entire standard duration of the master’s or professional program, and a relocation grant to cover moving expenses to Montréal.
  • McCall MacBain Scholarship applicants may also be eligible for other awards, including 20 International Finalist Awards ($20,000) available to all other applicants, including those from the United States.
  • Scholars will participate in an intensive leadership development program with a diverse cohort of researchers from various fields, including seminars with case studies to enhance their ability to handle challenging situations and expand their impact.
  • Each scholar will be paired with a supportive and knowledgeable mentor, an experienced coach, and advisors to provide guidance and support.
  • Scholars will have opportunities to broaden their knowledge and explore their interests, in addition to honing their leadership skills.

Eligibility for McCall MacBain Scholarships:

To be eligible for the McCall MacBain Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Intend to apply for Summer/Fall 2024 admission to a full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University in 2023.
  • The program must consist of at least 45 credits and predominantly take place on the downtown or Macdonald campuses of McGill University.
  • Applicants must meet the minimum educational and language requirements for admission to McGill’s master’s program.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, its recognized equivalent, or the ability to obtain one by August 2024.
