About the Scholarship:

Loughborough University is pleased to announce the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Scholarships for the academic year 2023–2024. These scholarships aim to provide 50 scholarships for students from underrepresented groups to acquire skills in data science and artificial intelligence. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must belong to at least one of the underrepresented groups listed below.

Loughborough University, located in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England, was founded as Loughborough Technical Institute in 1909, with a focus on practical skills applicable to the real world. It gained university status in 1966. In March 2013, the university acquired the former broadcasting facility at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to establish a second campus. In the fiscal year 2021–22, the university had an income of £328 million, with an expenditure of £379.4 million, including £39.2 million from research grants and contracts.

Loughborough University was honored with the University of the Year award by The Times and Sunday Times University Good University Guide in 2019. Scholarship Benefits:

Loughborough University will provide award amounts of up to £10,000, which can be used for living expenses, tuition, or a combination of both. These scholarships are disbursed in three payments throughout the academic year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Countries: EU/UK
Eligible Programs: Scholarships are available for students enrolled in the following MSc programs:
- Data Science
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics
- Cyber Security and Data Analytics
- Digital Finance
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Scholarships, candidates must belong to at least one of the following underrepresented groups:
- Women
- Students of color
- Registered disabled students
- Students from low socioeconomic backgrounds
- Students with care experience
- Estranged students
- Students who identify as Gypsy, Roma, or Traveller
- Refugees
- Children from military families
- Veterans
- Spouses of military members
Candidates must also meet the nationality or residency requirements to be eligible for the postgraduate master’s loan.
Applicants should be self-supporting, meaning they are not receiving additional scholarships or sponsorship (a postgraduate loan from the UK government is permissible).

Before applying for the scholarship, candidates must have previously submitted their application for one of the master’s programs and include their Postgraduate Application Number.
Supporting Records: Applicants must submit a concise supporting statement with their application, including:
- Previous academic and extracurricular achievements
- Past and current experiences in data science
- Professional goals
- How the financial support from the scholarship will benefit them
Entry Requirements: Aspirants must meet the university’s admission requirements to be considered for admission.
Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English.
