Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Kate Sheppard Chambers Scholarship for Research Relating to Women and the Law at Victoria University of Wellington, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Open to all Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington students currently enrolled in an honors or postgraduate law or humanities program who are studying or conducting research on a subject related to women and the law.
  • Applicants must be studying at the Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington in an LLB (Hons) or postgraduate degree program in law or humanities.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in or conducting research in a subject area linked to women and the law.
  • Candidates must be citizens or lawful permanent residents of New Zealand.
  • Applicants with diverse or minority backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who intend to work in the legal field after completing their education.

Required Documents:

  • A personal statement describing your background.
  • A brief explanation of your proposed area of study or research related to women and the law, along with your professional goals and reasons for your interest in the topic.
  • Academic records for any previous coursework.
