Position Overview
This position is responsible for supervising all activities within the MEP department. This role involves identifying opportunities, managing project cost analysis and documentation, coordinating teams and vendors and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
This role requires excellent people management skills, strong leadership and supervisory skills, strong problem-solving & analytical skills, excellent written & verbal communication skills, effective customer service and quality control, stakeholder management skills, strong organizational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating all the activities of the MEP department.
- Identifying business opportunities for MEP products and services
- Responding to project enquiries from clients
- Initiating site visitations/inspections to access project quotation/design, also to identify project constraints
- Coordinating vendors and sub-contractors’ input towards project execution
- Preparing Project cost analysis, Program of Work (POW), Work Method Statement (WMS), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), shop and as-built drawing.
- Coordinating all ongoing project activities.
- Coordinating the preparation of a close-out report and gathering feedback from clients.
- Organizing job inductions, safety and cost control training to the members of the MEP team and vendors.
- Attending to any other jobs that may be assigned from time to time by the general manager (cooling division)
Requirements
- A minimum of a HND or a First Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
- A master’s degree in a relevant course is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Relevant Professional Certification is required
Technical Skills
- Extensive knowledge and comprehension of buildings, building service systems, MEP conceptual design, its construction and subcontracting.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency
- Performance contracting, building commissioning, Building Information Modeling (BIM), or sustainable building practices.
