We’ve now covered all the important fees and test types to remember in preparation for the IELTS. Let’s now take a look at some of the important pointers and policies to remember about IELTS fees. Learn about the additional costs if you plan to cancel or reschedule your IELTS test as well as the additional IELTS services you might need.

Cancellation Fees

When canceling an IELTS exam, 25% of your total payment for the IELTS test will be deducted.

Don’t worry, once your cancellation request is approved, you’ll get refunded at least 75% of your fee in less than two weeks. Remember the following pointers when canceling your IELTS test schedule:

  • You can cancel your current test date as long as you apply to cancel your spot at least 15 days from the test date.
  • If you’re planning to cancel 15-34 days from the date of your upcoming IELTS, provide appropriate documents supporting your request.
  • You’ll also need to provide documents when canceling an IELTS exam paid via offline channels.

Once your cancellation request is approved, wait 8 – 10 business days for the refund. The 25% deduction will automatically be taken out – these are for the administrative charges. However, if you’re canceling due to medical reasons on short notice, the administrative charge is waived as long as you can provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the set date.

This is why it’s important to plan ahead and know important schedules. Don’t worry, if you’re planning to take the test at a later date, you can reschedule instead.

Rescheduling Fees

Up to 15 days before your exam date, you can reschedule your IELTS test without worrying about any additional charges or penalty fees. It’s important to remember these crucial dates when planning to reschedule your IELTS as some dates require additional requirements.

Provide supporting documents and state your reason for your request. No need to state your reason for rescheduling your IELTS test.

Aside from the cancellation and rescheduling fees, there are two more possible IELTS expenses to consider: the cost for additional score reports and score revaluation fees.

There are instances when you might need additional score reporting sent to more universities or when you think you need to have your score remarked. Knowing these fees ahead of time will help you be even more prepared and help you make the best choices once you have your IELTS results.

Additional Score Reports

The first five Additional Test Report Form (or ARTF) are all processed free of charge. This means that you can select your top five universities and have IELTS process your score reporting for free. However, if you need additional score reports, prepare for an additional charge of INR 250 per university.

Keep in mind that you are only allowed to request score reporting to five universities per day. With all this in mind, research about ARTF and discern whether you’ll benefit from sending out your score reports to more than five universities or institutions.

Score Revaluation

If you’re planning to apply for a score revaluation, prepare an additional fee of INR 8,475. Seeing the cost of score revaluation, it’s important to weigh out your options before applying for an IELTS revaluation.
