  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Open to Chinese citizens residing in China at the time of application
    • Candidates must meet admission and selection requirements set by ENS Rennes
    • Proficiency in English is required, and for certain domains in Human Sciences, a high level of French proficiency (B2 or C1 level) is necessary
    • Ph.D. projects must be jointly supervised, with priority given to such projects
    • Successful candidates must commit to returning to China upon completion of the Ph.D. or after a postdoctoral period abroad (with CSC permission)
  • How to Apply:

    • Prepare the following supporting documents:
      • Detailed CV (in English or French) indicating language proficiency
      • Application letter in English or French
      • Copy of the candidate’s passport
      • Ph.D. supervisor’s biography and description of the thesis project
      • Acceptance letter signed by the Ph.D. supervisor, head of the host laboratory, and ENS Rennes
      • Provisional admission letter signed by ENS Rennes
  • Language Requirements:
    • Candidates must demonstrate a very good level of English and, for certain domains in Human Sciences, a very good level of French (B2 or C1 level)

    • The scholarship provides financial support for up to 4 years, with a monthly stipend of 1200 €
    • Priority is given to jointly supervised Ph.D. projects, with funding awarded only for the time spent in France
