Eligibility for Dr. Pirkko Koppinen Scholarship:

To be considered for the Dr. Pirkko Koppinen Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be international students.
  • Must have a conditional or unconditional offer to pursue an MA in Medieval Studies at Royal Holloway.
  • Must have, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 degree or better.

Application Procedure for Dr. Pirkko Koppinen Scholarship:

Applicants for the Dr. Pirkko Koppinen Scholarship should follow these steps:

  1. Submit your application via RH Direct.
  2. After July 26, 2023, applicants will be notified of the results of their applications.

The supporting statement should be no more than 500 words and should include:

  • Academic achievements you are proud of.
  • Reasons for choosing the degree program you’ve applied for.
  • How you plan to use the MA in your future studies and professional career, and how the scholarship will assist you in achieving your goals.

In addition to your statement, you must attach your most recent undergraduate grade transcript. Applications submitted without a transcript upload will be rejected.

A written academic reference letter (up to 200 words) is required. This reference should come from an academic who has previously assisted, taught, or collaborated with you. Ask the professor to send the reference letter directly to [email protected] via email on business letterhead.
