About Aalborg University and the Fellowship

Aalborg University is a Danish institution of higher learning with campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg, and Copenhagen. The university’s roots trace back to 1974 when it was established as Aalborg University Center (AUC), later renamed Aalborg University in 1994. Since 1917, Aalborg University has offered international fellowships to support women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and wish to pursue full-time graduate or postdoctoral education in their home country.

These fellowships may also provide support for women who are members of Graduate Women International (GWI) to study abroad at accredited institutions in the United States. Successful applicants are expected to return to their home countries and contribute to leadership roles in various fields, including business, politics, academia, civic engagement, the arts, and sciences.
